About Kavodah

Messianic EDM rooted in the Bible and Messianic theology

Kavodah is the music project of Jon Horton, where he creates soulful electronic worship music rooted in scripture and Messianic theology.

The Meaning of Kavodah

The name Kavodah is born from two Hebrew words: Kavod (כָּבוֹד) and Avodah (עֲבֹדָה). Kavod carries the idea of weightiness—of glory and honor. Avodah signifies work, worship, and service. Combined, Kavodah captures the heart of this project: creating music that worships our Father in soul and spirit.

Music Rooted In Messianic Theology

I spent years thinking I could listen to any type of music without it affecting me. But God began to convict me.

I realized that what I meditate on regularly matters because it gets into my heart and eventually spills out into my life.

For several years, I only listened to worship music, like Upper Room, SOLU Israel, and Joshua Aaron. Eventually, I missed the EDM sound of Avicii, the trap beats of Alison Wonderland, and the new soul blues of Gary Clark Jr, just to name a few. So I started producing my own electronic music with lyrics rooted in scripture and Messianic theology.

Rooted in the ancient words of the Bible, my lyrics tell Messianic stories to move your heart and stir your soul toward the world to come. So fill your mind, heart, and soul with music that centers you on God—the Creator of every good thing!

I hope my music will bless you, fill your heart with love for the Father, and stick with you throughout the day as you worship with soul and spirit.
